Summer Camp 2014

Now hiring for summer resident camp 2014! Positions include salary, room and board for the entirety of the summer season. Administrative
Assistant Camp Director
Salary Range:  $3,000 – $3,500
Employment Dates:  May 1- August 17, 2014
Duties: The Assistant Camp Director assists in the administration, management and supervision of the delivery of all aspects of camp programming Resident Camp. Oversees assigned staff members, and is responsible for enforcing camp policies and procedures. 21+, with 24 weeks of organized camp or childcare experience, knowledge of GSUSA safety standards, ACA standards and Maryland Youth Camp regulations preferred.

Program Manager
Salary Range:  $2,500 – $3,000
Employment Dates:  May 1- August 17, 2014
Duties: The Program Manager designs, implements and coordinates an all camp schedule for an exciting and challenging camp programming that allows girls to grow and test their abilities. The program manager oversees assigned specialty staff members, assists with travel camp preparation and provides support and direction for the successful delivery of the leadership programming.

Business Manager
Salary Range:  $2,500 – $3,000
Employment Dates:  May 20 – August 17, 2014
Duties: The Business Manager oversees the Resident Camp office, keeps orderly records of daily activities, and communicates with parents and vendors. The Business Manager ensures the safekeeping and accurate account camp invoices, business and purchase orders, off-site camp logs, camp budget, payroll and petty cash.

Food & Health
Health Supervisor
Salary Range:  approx $5,000
Employment Dates:  June 1 – August 16, 2014
Duties: Oversees the health center to ensure the health and safety of campers and staff. Manages incoming health screening, oversees medication dispersal, stocks first-aid kits and orders supplies as needed. 21+, current RN or EMT certification and valid license, clear driving record and proof of insurability.

Kitchen Manager
Salary Range:  approx $5,000
Employment Dates:  June 1 – August 16, 2014
Duties: Manages all aspects of kitchen facilities in order to serve nutritionally-balanced meals for 250 campers and staff. Supervise staff, order food weekly, maintain clean facility, prepare menus and follow Dining Hall procedures. 21+, experienced cook for large groups, current ServSafe certification.

Kitchen Assistant
Salary Range:  $1,800 – $2,000
Employment Dates:  June 1 – August 16, 2014
Duties: Assists with the operation of the kitchen and dining hall facilities. Assist in preparation, serving and cleaning of three meals daily. 18+, experience in food prep and dish washing.

Program Specialty
Horseback Riding Manager
Salary Range:  $2,000 – $2,500
Employment Dates:  June 1 – August 16, 2014
Duties: Manages all aspects of the equestrian program and staff. Assist in scheduling of specialty horse time to ensure safety of campers and horses, create educational and fulfilling program based on program goals. Supervise staff, horse care and stable maintenance. 21+, experience managing horse program, written proof of qualifications.

Horseback Riding Assistant
Salary Range:  $1,800 – $2,000
Employment Dates:  June 1 – August 16, 2014
Duties: Assist in horse care, stable maintenance and education of campers in equestrian program. Maintain a safe, clean and positive program area. 18+, experience riding and teaching horseback riding.

Horseback Intern
Employment Dates:  June 1 – August 16, 2014
Duties: The Horse Intern acquires skills in the development and implementation of Girl Scout program activities. This is achieved through girl involvement and planning a progressive horseback riding program. The Horse Intern assists and develops learning skills of supervision and maintaining the health and safety of girls in the horse units while helping them appreciate the outdoors.

Waterfront Manager
Salary Range:  $2,000 – $2,500
Employment Dates:  June 1 – August 16, 2014
Duties: Manages and supervises activities, staff, scheduling and safety in pool and waterfront areas. Coordinates swim test for all incoming campers and scheduling of water activities. Maintain health and safety of pool area daily. 21+, preferred current lifeguard, Water Safety Instructor and CPR/ First Aid certifications.

Waterfront Assistant
Salary Range:  $1,800 – $2,000
Employment Dates:  June 1 – August 16, 2014
Duties: Assist in water and swimming activities, maintain cleanliness of pool facilities and assists in unit activities when pool is closed. 18+ and preferred current lifeguard Water Safety Instructor and CPR/ First Aid certifications.

Arts and Crafts Manager
Salary Range:  $2,000 – $2,500
Employment Dates:  June 1 – August 16, 2014
Duties:  Implement and manage the arts and crafts program. Create age and program appropriate activities, submit supply lists and maintain clean and organized area. Assist in supplying units with program ideas, materials and assistance. 18+, experience teaching art activities to youth.

Nature Manager
Salary Range:  $2,000 – $2,500
Employment Dates:  June 1 – August 16, 2014
Duties: Implement and manage the nature program and center. Create age and program appropriate activities, submit supply lists and maintain clean and organized area. Assist in supplying units with program ideas, materials and assistance. 18+, experience teaching outdoor education activities to youth.

Ropes Course Manager
Salary Range:  $2,000 – $2,500
Employment Dates:  June 1 – August 16, 2014
Duties:  Implement and manage the high adventure program including low ropes, high ropes and rock wall. Create age and program appropriate activities, submit supply lists and maintain clean and organized area. Assist in supplying units with program ideas, materials and assistance. 21+, experience on ropes course and ability to complete training.

Sports Manager
Salary Range:  $2,000 – $2,500
Employment Dates:  June 1 – August 16, 2014
Duties:   Implement and manage the sports program. Create age and program appropriate activities, submit supply lists and maintain clean and organized area. Assist in supplying units with program ideas, materials and assistance. 18+, experience teaching sporting activities to youth.

S.T.E.M. Manager
Salary Range:  $2,000 – $2,500
Employment Dates:  June 1 – August 16, 2014
Duties: To further the mission of the camp through the development and delivery of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers’ age and abilities and reflect the camp’s commitment to stewardship of the natural environment. 18+, experience teaching S.T.E.M. activities to youth.

Travel Unit Counselor
Salary Range:  $2,000 – $2,500
Employment Dates:  June 1 – August 16, 2014
Duties:   Manages the camps that travel off camp property each week. Coordinates activities, schedules, campers and other staff to ensure a positive, safe and fun experience. Responsible for the daily supervision of girls and attention to established itineraries. 21+ and valid license, clear driving record and proof of insurability.

Leadership Unit Leader
Salary Range:  $2,000 – $2,500
Employment Dates:  June 8 – August 16, 2014
Duties:   The Leadership Unit Leader plans, organizes and implements the Girl Scout program in a designated unit living area; giving leadership and guidance to campers for a healthful and fun Girl Scout group camping experience.

Unit
Unit Leader
Salary Range:  $2,000 – $2,300
Employment Dates:  June 8 – August 16, 2014
Duties:   Manages the living unit, coordinates activities and works with campers and other staff to create program activities and a positive living unit. Responsible for the daily supervision of girls in the living unit and program areas and supervises unit staff. 21+ preferred.

Counselor
Salary Range:  $1,800 – $2,000
Employment Dates:  June 8 – August 16, 2014
Duties:   Assists the Unit Leader with the planning and implementation of unit activities and camper dynamics. Responsible for the daily supervision of girls in the living unit and program areas. 18+.

Assistant Unit Counselor
Salary Range:  approx $1,850
Employment Dates:  June 8 – August 16, 2014
Duties: Plans, organizes and implements the Girl Scout program in a designated unit living area; giving leadership and guidance to campers for a healthful and fun Girl Scout group camping experience. +18
