STEM Specialist Intern
The STEM Specialist Internship is a fast paced position responsible for assisting in the promotion, organization, and delivery of the Girl Scout Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Program to girl members. The Intern performs a wide variety of duties and assignments to ensure quality, focused program delivery and evaluation. The Intern must work with the Program II department to meet scheduled deadlines and maintain a professional manner and appearance, as well as, work with a variety of staff, volunteers, and community partners. The Intern works collectively with the STEM Specialist and Program II Department to ensure completion of the some of the council’s many STEM focused programs, as well as taking the lead on organizing a council-wide STEM event or program that focuses on the Intern’s personal interests. Community Program Intern
The Community Program Internship is a fast paced position responsible for delivering the Girl Scout Leadership programming to girls in grades K-12 in various community settings (schools, places of worship, community centers) through a series of four to six week sessions following approved curriculum and guidelines. Program locations will focus on areas that are undeserved and culturally diverse in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Anne Arundel County. Click here for full description.
Community Program Beyond Bars Intern
For two decades, Girl Scouts of Central Maryland has partnered with Maryland Correctional Institution for Women (MCI-W) to help incarcerated women maintain/develop nurturing relationships with their daughters aged 5 to 17.
The program allows mothers and daughters to share time together twice a month during troop meetings that are held in the prison gym. The meetings are structured to feature bonding time as well as typical Girl Scout activities that enable the girls to do Journeys and earn badges. This position will provide support for planning, marketing and/or evaluating the program. The person in this position may interact with girls and guardians participating in the program but will NOT work inside the prison nor interact directly with the incarcerated mothers. Fund Development Intern
The Fund Development Department is looking for an intern to assist with the Distinguished Women’s Award Event. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, good research and problem solving skills, is proactive and a creative thinker. Summer Camp 2015
