Grades 2-3

S‘mores and more!
Calling all girls who are ready to give resident camp a try! This session gives first timers a chance to sample camp activities like swimming, crafts, songs, making s’mores around the campfire, playing games and more! Have lots of fun with new camp friends!

Grades 4-5

Habitat for camp!
Lend us your helping hands to improve Camp Conowingo’s garden. Get your hands dirty as you dig in the gardens at camp and discover why worms are so important. Create a mosaic flower pot, germinate seeds, get inspired with pressed flowers, and help build raised beds or garden structures and  host a garden party! When you are not discovering the secrets of bugs, composting and learning what makes flowers bloom, you will have time to swim, hike and climb the rock wall too!

We want it all!
Do you want to do everything at camp conowingo?  Then this is your chance! Go on creek hikes and cook your own meal over the campfire. See how quickly you can climb the rock wall and work as a team to conquer the ropes course. You will even get a chance to visit the stables and go on a horseback ride in the corral. Make new friends as you sit ‘round the campfire, make arts and crafts, swim and enjoy nature activities. (horses may not be ridden in excessive heat. If this occurs, other activities will be offered during that time.)

Grades 6-8

Rainbow weavers
Come to camp and try your hand at weaving and macramé as you create everything from friendship bracelets to a small throw rug for your room.  Discover the artist within, as you work with mediums such as hemp, string, fabric and rubber bands!  Campers also get to enjoy pool time, sports, nature, and more.  Campers are asked to bring scrap cloth with them such as old t-shirts, sheets, pillowcases, etc.

Rocks, ropes and repelling
Looking for real adventure? Wake up in the morning at Camp Conowingo and eat a big breakfast to prepare for a full day of rock climbing. Come learn the three r’s of rock climbing: rocks, ropes, and rappelling. Girls will spend four adventure-filled days at beautiful rocks state park learning knot tying, belaying techniques, climbing movements, and most of all, having a total blast! At the end of the day, cool off in the pool and relax in front of the campfire as you share your day’s adventures with your new friends.

Grades 9-12

Project green camp
It will be your mission this week to create a more environmentally friendly and sustainable camp conowingo . Learn ways to conserve energy, recycle, live green, create sustainable living and make the earth a more beautiful place – starting with camp conowingo. You and your new friends will get a chance to create a recycling system, a composting area and plant a garden to grow vegetables and herbs that camp can use for the remainder of the summer. You will still find plenty of time for swimming, nature, arts and crafts, campfires and more. Girl scout seniors will work on parts of the sow what? Journey and girl scout ambassadors will work on parts of the justice journey.

Stress less
Are you feeling stressed out these days? Come out to Conowingo to relax and chill while learning tips and techniques for taking care of yourself.  You will be able to pamper yourself this week and get tips on how to reduce your stress.  On top of enjoying regular camp activities like crafts, nature hikes and campfires, you will learn about healthy eating, make natural beauty products, and enjoy stress-less activities like floating in the pool, writing in your journal and doing yoga. Girl scout seniors will work on the women’s health badge.
