Camp-In at Maryland Science Center

Camp-In is for Girl Scout *third-grade* Brownies and Girl Scout Juniors. This overnight adventure includes informal STEM education, IMAX and Planetarium shows, hands-on science workshops with take-home activities, museum exploration and store time, and – of course! – the chance to spend a night at the museum. Activitiy includes a participation patch and take-home activities. Evening snack and morning breakfast wil be provided.

To Register: Registration accepted primarily by postal mail with check for payment in full, but electronic registration can be accepted with a phone call to get credit card information. No specific deadlines. Registrations will be accepted until a date fills.

Ready, Aim, Bull’s Eye

Come to camp and learn about ARCHERY! This two-hour program activity will concentrate on safety, shooting techniques and target practice. Volunteer instructors will lead each session. It doesn’t matter whether you hit the target or not—you can have a blast!

Rockwall Adventures

The best view of camp is at the top of the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland rock wall. Challenge yourself to make it to the top of the 25 foot tower. Learn safety tips for future climbing and earn a participation patch.

Behind the Scenes at Six Flags!

Get a behind the scenes tour of Six Flags America’s most popular show, one-on-one training from award winning performers and have the opportunity to be picked from the audience for a “hands-on” experience. Girl Scouts and guests will have admission to Six Flags America for the remainder of the day with an all-you-can-eat buffet starting at 12:30 pm. This is NOT a drop off event. All girls must be accompanied by an adult.

Pre-registration is required through the Six Flags America website (www.sixflags.com/america) using the promo code GIRLSCOUTS. The online processing fee will be waived with the use of this promo code.

 Cost is $45.44 per person. You can pre-purchase parking for a discounted rate of $15. Please note, paying for parking at the gate will be the regular price of $20.

Overnight Adventures at Port Discovery

Overnight Adventures combines the fun and excitement of exploring the great indoors of Port Discovery with hands-on, educational workshops! The program includes: free play in the Museum’s exhibits and program, creative arts and science based projects, evening snack and light breakfast, discount parking at Harbor Park Garage.

Day in the Woods

Spend a fabulous day frolicking with friends while you brush up on camping skills and learn some new techniques. Track 1: Participate in races, games, scavenger hunt, singing, crafting and making a fire. Track 2: Cook a meal outside, learn orienteering, tying knots and make an outdoor shelter. Bring bag lunch and water bottle. Wear a hat or bandana and tie hair back.

Arts in the Outdoors

Do you have the soul of an artist and what to express yourself in new ways? Come on out to our new STEAM program where we showcase how science is truly incorporated into the world of the arts. Throughout the day, girls at this event will be exploring how art is truly reflected in nature and the natural world around us through crafting and experimenting with products found in nature. Expect a great day filled with art exploration and appreciation within the intriguing natural environment. Tag-alongs welcome, but please no drop-offs.
