Tribute Gifts

Gifts can be made online or by mail in honor of a special person in your life to show your appreciation, in sympathy to the family for the loss of a loved one or even as a way to congratulate someone for their birthday, graduation, special recognition, service awards or event for a girl who has earned the Girl Scout Gold Award. If you choose to make an honor/memorial gift online, please provide all acknowledgement instructions when completing the online giving form. GSCM will send a donation acknowledgement letter to the donor as well as a beautiful card to the recipient as acknowledgement of your contribution. Vehicle Donations

Girl Scouts of Central Maryland has teamed up with Vehicles for Change to raise funds to enrich the programs and experiences that Girl Scouts offer young women while simultaneously helping low-income families obtain reliable transportation. Vehicles for Change is a nonprofit organization that refurbishes and provides donated vehicles to low-wage families for employment purposes. Every time a friend of GSCM donates a car to VFC, the organization receives 40% of the net proceeds. Visit www.vehiclesforchange.org or contact Jennifer Moumane at jmoumane@gscm.org.

Planned Gifts/Juliette Gordon Low Society

Juliette’s outstanding leadership was matched by her stewardship when she converted the carriage house of her home into the first Girl Scout national headquarters, and she gifted the property to Girl Scouts in her will.

Juliette’s bequest was the beginning of planned giving to Girl Scouts. In her memory, the Juliette Gordon Low Society was established to thank and honor friends of Girl Scouting who choose to make Girl Scouts part of their legacies and a beneficiary of their estate plans. Providing a gift to Girl Scouts in your estate plans can include naming Girl Scouts as beneficiary of a:

  • Will
  • Retirement Plan
  • Living Trust
  • Donor Advised Fund
  • Life Insurance Policy
  • Charitable Gift Annuity
  • Charitable Remainder Trust
  • Charitable Lead Trust
  • Remainder Gift of Real Estate
  • Any other gift that benefits Girl Scouts in the future

As a member of GSCM’s Juliette Gordon Low Society, you will be invited to attend special recognition and educational events. Other benefits include updates and news as well as becoming listed as a Society member in select Girl Scout publications and/or web site, access to digital resources and a special membership lapel pin.

If you have already named GSCM as the beneficiary of a planned gift, let us know. We will welcome you as a Juliette Gordon Low Society member.

If you would like more information about how you can become a member in a manner that benefits you, your heirs and Girl Scouts – please contact Berit Killingstad, Major Gifts Officer, bkillingstad@gscm.org or 410.358.9711, extension 225.

Send a Girl to Camp/Camperships

Every girl can benefit from the experiences that summer camp buys, and no Girl Scout should miss camp because of a lack of funds. A campership is financial assistance awarded to a Girl Scout to allow her to attend a Girl Scout summer camp program within the central Maryland Council, either residential or day camp.
